Case studies first, then the publications and products. Each page explains the audience, my role, the system, and the outcome — not only the tech stack.

Building a Multi-Publication Technology Network
Five audience-specific desks, one operating system
I started publishing technology guides in 2007 while working in IT. The first site, Online Tech Tips, grew quickly enough that a single general-interest desk could not serve every reader well.

Scaling Editorial Operations Across a Distributed Team
More than 35 contributors without turning publishing into a factory
A single-author site can hold a point of view in one person’s head. A network that publishes continuously cannot. The work had to become teachable: who writes, what a brief contains, how review works, and what “done” means.

Adapting Content Strategy for Search and AI
Performance, lifecycle, and judgment — not another keyword checklist
Organic search has been the primary way readers found the publications. That made SEO unavoidable, but it was never the whole strategy. The useful question was always why a piece performed the way it did.

Building PositionTracker With AI-Assisted Development
A SaaS product directed, designed, and iterated with modern AI workflows
After years of running publishing systems, I started building PositionTracker: a dashboard for organizing and analyzing stock and options positions. The product came from a practical problem — positions, research, and market context lived in too many places.

Publication
Online Tech Tips
The flagship publication, started in 2007 while I was still working in IT. It began as a place to document troubleshooting work and became the first property in a multi-publication network.

Publication
Help Desk Geek
The second publication in the network, positioned around troubleshooting rather than general tech curiosity. HDG is where editorial discipline shows up as brevity, sequence, and respect for the reader’s time.

Switching to Mac
Launched to give Apple coverage its own desk instead of folding it into a general technology site. The name started with migration; the publication grew into ongoing Apple-ecosystem education.

The Back Room Tech
The technical publication in the network. TBRT exists so IT-specific work does not get flattened into consumer how-tos, and so consumer sites do not pretend to be sysadmin desks.

Xbox Advisor
The newest publication in the network. Xbox Advisor extends the same editorial model into gaming: a defined audience, a defined desk, and standards that still apply when the subject is entertainment.

PositionTracker
A SaaS dashboard for organizing and analyzing stock and options positions. I directed the concept, workflows, interface, and implementation using modern AI-assisted development — I do not claim to have hand-coded every line or to be a senior software engineer.

Company
AK Internet Consulting
The company through which I have operated the publication network and, more recently, offered WordPress care, workflow automation, and AI-assisted software work. The consulting catalog should not be mistaken for the full scope of the career.
